As previously stated, immigrants need to submit an application according to their purpose of stay, for example, employment. This is to be submitted before their arrival in the country. The Spanish Embassy in Caracas can receive these applications as well as other Spanish Consulates in Venezuela.
One of our Spain immigration agents can guide you throughout the application process so that you may submit all of the required documents and have the application evaluated as soon as possible.
The Spanish embassy or consulate will usually provide their decision within one month after the submission of the application. We recommend scheduling the travel to Spain according to the estimated residence permit issuance. One of our agents can provide more details.
Venezuelan immigrants are required to follow a set of steps once they arrive in the country. Obtaining the foreign identification number, also referred to as the NIE, is one of these steps and it is an important one, along with applying for an identity card.
The NIE application is submitted to the police station or the Spanish embassy. It can also be applied for by another individual who has been authorized to do so through a power of attorney and, in some cases, the process may differ according to the region in which the applicant will continue to reside. For example, the process may be slightly different in Madrid compared to other regions in the country. The documents that are required for applicants who will live in the Madrid region include the NIE application form, the original passport and a copy thereof, two small recent photographs as well as proof of payment for the applicable fee.
Our Spain immigration specialists can provide you with more information about the NIE number and other requirements.
